About this program

A calm, structured and nurturing alternative to mainstream schooling for verbal, socially engaged neurodivergent children aged 6–18. The school day weaves personalised academics with life skills, social and emotional development, movement, nature, meditation and passion projects — delivered in small peer groups of no more than eight, with two teachers and integrated visiting specialists.

Winta's Place is a specialist neurodiverse school in Ubud, Bali for children and teens aged 6 to 18 who are verbal, curious and socially interested, but who don't flourish in large mainstream classrooms. Our Core School Program replaces the noisy 30-child classroom with small developmental-age peer groups, two teachers per group, and an individual learning plan (ILP) for every child — covering academics, life skills, social-emotional growth, health, movement, culture and passion projects.

What's included

Everything that makes Core School Program what it is.

Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)

Every child has a personalised plan across academics, social skills, emotional regulation, health, physical development, cultural exposure and passion areas — reviewed continuously with parents.

Peer & developmental-age grouping

Children are grouped by developmental age and shared interests, not just birthday — so friendships and learning both feel like a real fit.

Trackable international curriculum

An internationally recognised online curriculum with parent, teacher and student logins, so progress is transparent and portable if a family ever moves.

2 teachers · max 8 students

A high-support ratio with visiting occupational therapists and a social worker embedded in the team — not just outsourced.

Social-emotional development

Daily emotional regulation, communication, compassion, gratitude and self-advocacy work — woven into every part of the day, not a bolt-on.

Life skills & health

Cooking, tidying, gardening, self-care, budgeting, safety and independence practised daily as part of real classroom life.

Passion projects & genius time

Three days a week the children lead their own inquiry into what lights them up — with curriculum woven through it.

Art, music, drama

Dedicated creative days each week, culminating in the school play, art shows and end-of-year presentations.

AI-supported learning

AI and technology used thoughtfully to accelerate progress, personalise practice and streamline reporting for teachers and parents.

Movement, nature & mindfulness daily

Yoga, brain-gym, walks, breathwork and meditation are non-negotiable parts of every school day.

Parent-teacher app

One place for daily updates, goals, therapy notes, celebrations and communication — visible to parents, teachers and coordinated external practitioners.

Real-world Bali learning

Markets, farms, temples, waterfalls and community outings turn Ubud into an extended classroom.

Who it's for

Is this the right fit for your family?

We're honest about who each program serves best. If you're not sure, a WhatsApp conversation is the fastest way to find out.

  • Verbal children and teens aged 6–18 who are socially interested
  • Kids on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia or developmental delays
  • Bright, sensitive learners who unravel in large mainstream classrooms
  • Families in Ubud, Canggu and greater Bali looking for a specialist neurodiverse school
  • Expat and local families wanting continuity, transparency and a real team around their child
Honest boundaries

Who Core School is not for

We are not a profound special-needs setting. Children who need 1:1 medical care, are non-verbal without communication supports, or need round-the-clock behavioural intervention will be better supported elsewhere. We're honest about fit — see Who We Support for the full picture.

FAQ

Common questions about Core School Program.

What ages does Winta's Place accept?+

6 to 18. Children are grouped by developmental age and shared interests into small peer groups so learning, friendships and exploration all fit.

Do you follow a recognised curriculum?+

Yes — we use an internationally recognised online curriculum as the academic backbone, then wrap it around each child's ILP. Parents, teachers and students all have logins so progress is transparent and portable.

How is this different from mainstream school?+

Groups of up to eight instead of thirty. Two teachers per group. An ILP for every child. Life skills, social-emotional development, movement and nature are core, not extra. Therapists are part of the team, not a separate errand.

Do you require a diagnosis?+

No formal diagnosis is required to start a conversation, but we do need to understand your child's profile so we can honestly assess fit. Admissions is a step-by-step process, not a form.
