About Winta's Place
Who we are, why we exist, and what makes this different from a mainstream school.
Winta's Place is a small, specialist learning and family-support community in Bali for neurodiverse children aged 6–18. We combine individualised education, therapy coordination, healthy nutrition, nature-based activities and extended care for the whole family — all under one roof.
Not in the traditional sense. We are a community-based learning environment. Children follow a real academic curriculum with qualified teachers, but the setting is small, home-like and built around each child rather than around a classroom of thirty.
It grew out of our founder Heidi's lived experience searching for the right support for her daughter Winta. Families in Bali were piecing together school, therapy, care and community from many different providers. Winta's Place brings them together in one trusted place.
It is founded by Heidi, a parent of a neurodiverse child, working with qualified teachers, therapists and carers. Founding families joining in 2026 help shape the community alongside us.
Winta's Place is based in Bali, Indonesia. Full site details, catchment areas and directions are shared with families during the admissions conversation.
We are opening in 2026 with a small founding cohort. Founding families receive priority placement and help co-create the program.

Who We Support
The children and families who thrive here — and honest boundaries.
Neurodiverse children aged 6–18 who are verbal, active and socially interested but who do not thrive in large mainstream classrooms. This includes children with Autism, ADHD, developmental delays, sensory processing differences, anxiety, learning differences and related profiles.
No. Many families come to us mid-assessment or without a formal diagnosis. What matters is that the child fits our profile and that we can genuinely meet their needs.
We are honest about our boundaries. Children who require a profound one-to-one special-needs setting, who have significant safety-critical behaviours, or who need full medical supervision are better served by specialist settings. We will always say so kindly during the admissions conversation.
Yes. We are proud to be a mixed community of expat and local families, and we work to keep that balance meaningful.

Our Approach

Right tools, right people, right modalities, right time. Every child gets what they need, when they need it — not a one-size-fits-all timetable.
A holistic framework across nineteen pillars including literacy, numeracy, science, the arts, movement, nature, life skills, emotional regulation, community, nutrition and vocational learning — woven together rather than taught as isolated subjects.
Every child has an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) co-created with parents and therapists. Goals, methods and pace are set for that child and reviewed regularly.
Small. We deliberately keep ratios low so children are known, seen and supported by adults who understand them.
Both. We use indoor learning spaces, nature and the wider community. Nature-based and movement-based learning are core, not extras.

Core school runs during the standard school day. Before-school breakfast club and after-school care extend either side for working parents. Exact hours are shared on the Programs pages.
We run 52 weeks with 5 weeks closed across the year. The rhythm includes term-time learning, holiday programs, intensives and a dedicated Professions & Community Week.
A weekend option that gives children structured activities and community time while giving parents and carers genuine relief.
Short, focused blocks of targeted work — for example literacy, regulation, or social skills — for children who benefit from a concentrated push at the right moment.
Yes, for families who need it — including families visiting Bali for a term, or in transition. Boarding is small-scale and family-style.
Yes. Healthy, whole-food nutrition is part of the program, from breakfast club through to the school day.
We coordinate therapy through a trusted network. Some therapies happen on-site; others are arranged with partner practitioners so parents don't have to piece it together themselves.

Family Support
Because school is only part of the picture.
Neurodiverse parenting is exhausting, isolating and expensive. If the child is supported but the family is burning out, nothing is sustainable. We treat parent and carer support as core, not optional.
Through a Parent–Teacher–Therapist app where ILP goals, real-time progress, notes from teachers and therapists, and daily context are shared in one place.
Regular gatherings, peer support, shared learning and a genuine circle of families who understand each other. Founding families help shape this from day one.
Yes. Respite, community events and the therapy network are open to the whole family unit, not only the enrolled child.
Yes. Our therapy network covers speech, OT, psychology, behavioural support and more, for both children and parents.

Pricing & Admissions
Transparent term-based fees and a clear step-by-step process.
Term-based and transparent. Full fee schedules for each program are published on the Pricing & Admissions page so families can plan properly.
Meals and core program costs are included where stated. Optional extras — such as external therapy sessions or specialist assessments — are listed separately and always agreed in advance.
Founding families joining in 2026 receive a founding-family arrangement. Details are discussed directly during admissions.
A conversation first, then a visit and a getting-to-know-your-child session, then a shared decision. We only enrol children we can genuinely support — for the family's sake as much as ours.

Practical & Contact

Primarily through our Parent–Teacher–Therapist app for day-to-day updates, and WhatsApp for quick conversations. Formal ILP reviews happen on a regular schedule.
We help families coordinate transport where possible. Specifics depend on the catchment area and are discussed during admissions.
